Ciudad Juarez, April 22, 2026 – The Chihuahua State Judiciary initiated its Mobile Justice Program today at CBTis 16 in the southeastern sector of Ciudad Juarez. This initiative aims to provide free legal advice, conflict mediation, and support services to victims directly within the community.

Free Legal Services Offered to Residents

The program, which will run on April 22 and 23, is set up at the CBTis 16 campus, located at Paseo de las Ciencias Avenue, corner with Arquimedes, in the Knowledge City. Three specialized modules have been established, staffed by trained personnel ready to assist applicants free of charge and without prior appointments.

Key Services Provided at the Modules:

  • Public Defense Institute: Offers free legal advice and defense in penal, family, civil, and labor cases. It also provides representation for individuals without legal counsel and support throughout their legal processes.
  • Alternative Justice and Early Attention Institute: Focuses on resolving conflicts without the need for court trials through mediation and conciliation. This institute facilitates voluntary, quick, and legal agreements, ideal for family, civil, and commercial matters.
  • Pre-Trial Services Institute: Provides essential support to victims, including follow-up supervision, referrals to institutional aid, and ongoing risk assessments.

Organizers emphasized that this initiative brings institutional services closer to the community, fulfilling a commitment to accessibility championed by Magistrate President Marcela Herrera Sandoval. The program also promotes the ‘Soy Legal’ initiative, which aims to educate young people about their rights and responsibilities.

Impact on the Community and Future Plans

The Mobile Justice Program addresses a broad range of legal needs, from criminal charges to family disputes, civil matters, and labor issues. By offering these services directly in the community, the Chihuahua State Judiciary seeks to make justice more accessible and understandable for all residents of Ciudad Juarez, particularly those in underserved areas.

This effort is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the connection between judicial institutions and the public, ensuring that legal support is not only available but also easily reachable. The program’s presence at educational institutions like CBTis 16 also plays a crucial role in fostering legal awareness among students and the wider community.

The success of this two-day event will likely pave the way for similar initiatives in other parts of Ciudad Juarez and potentially across the state of Chihuahua, reinforcing the commitment to a more equitable and accessible justice system.
