Necaxa Completes Comeback Against Struggling Bravos de Ciudad Juárez

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, February 14, 2026 – Necaxa secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Bravos de Ciudad Juárez in a Liga MX Clausura tournament match. The decisive goal came late in the game from Javier Ruiz, deepening the woes of the home team, who have now suffered their third consecutive defeat.

Javier Ruiz, who had only been on the field for a couple of minutes, struck a shot from outside the box in the 87th minute, beating goalkeeper Sebastian Jurado and sealing the win for the Rayos del Necaxa. Julián Carranza had previously equalized for the visitors with a precise header in the 43rd minute.

Juárez’s Struggles Continue

Bravos de Ciudad Juárez continues its downward spiral in the championship, now facing their third consecutive loss and extending their winless streak to five matches. Coach Pedro Caixinha expressed visible frustration from the dugout, seemingly in disbelief at his team’s performance.

Ricardinho opened the scoring for the home side in the 40th minute, netting his first goal for the club after receiving an excellent diagonal pass from Denzell García. This goal briefly ignited the Estadio Benito Juárez crowd, which had endured a rather uneventful first half.

However, the joy was short-lived. Carranza quickly responded for Necaxa, scoring his third goal of the championship with a well-placed header from a cross to the far post, leaving Jurado with no chance. This equalizer left Caixinha’s face hardened, reflecting the harsh reality for a Bravos de Ciudad Juárez team that appears erratic in attack and highly vulnerable in defense.

Second Half Battle

After the break, the home team showed renewed vigor, but their efforts gradually faded as they struggled to create meaningful opportunities against a Necaxa side that, while not aggressively seeking another goal, effectively defended their position. The most significant blow to Juárez’s hopes came with Ruiz’s late strike, which secured Necaxa’s second consecutive victory in the championship.

Upcoming Matches and League Standings

Bravos de Ciudad Juárez currently sits in 15th place in the league standings with four points. Their next challenge will be an away match against Querétaro, another team struggling at the bottom of the table with five points. This match presents an opportunity for Juárez to break their poor run of form. Meanwhile, Necaxa will aim to extend their positive momentum as they host the reigning two-time champions, Diablos del Toluca, in their next fixture.

The match was a testament to Necaxa’s resilience and Juárez’s ongoing difficulties. The result further highlights the competitive nature of the Liga MX Clausura tournament, where every point is crucial for teams vying for playoff spots or fighting to avoid the bottom of the table.
