Over 22,000 Repatriated Mexicans Assisted at “México Te Abraza” Center in Ciudad Juárez
Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico – March 5, 2026 – The “México Te Abraza” Support and Services Center, known locally as “El Punto,” has provided assistance to 22,013 Mexican nationals repatriated from the United States since February 2025. This information was shared by Mayra Chávez Jiménez, the delegate of Programs for Well-being in Chihuahua.
Chávez Jiménez detailed that in 2025, the center attended to 17,208 individuals. The numbers continue to rise in 2026, with approximately 2,500 people received in January, 2,250 in February, and 55 nationals already accounted for in March following their repatriation by the U.S. Government.
The official noted that due to a decrease in the number of people staying at the facility, the capacity of the Support Center has been reduced from its initial setup. “The center continues to function for those being repatriated through Juárez. A review of the space was conducted; it was prepared for 2,500 people, but it is being reduced based on the number of people staying overnight,” she explained.
Currently, the center, situated next to the Benito Juárez stadium on Heroico Colegio Militar Avenue, receives an average of 70 individuals daily. Many of the repatriated individuals choose to leave shortly after their arrival, as the center serves as a temporary stay where each person decides whether to remain for a few days or immediately travel to their place of origin.
Chávez Jiménez emphasized that the Support and Services Center is part of the national “México Te Abraza” strategy, which continues to operate in various states across the country. She also highlighted that the “Paisano Bienestar” card’s financial support increased from 2,000 to 2,500 pesos starting in January of this year.
The “México Te Abraza” strategy aims to provide comprehensive support to Mexican nationals returning to the country, offering temporary shelter, food, medical assistance, and guidance on reintegration into society. This includes connecting them with resources for employment, education, and family reunification.
The ongoing efforts at “El Punto” underscore the continuous challenges faced by repatriated individuals and the critical role played by support centers in facilitating their transition. The center’s adaptability in adjusting its capacity reflects a pragmatic approach to managing fluctuating numbers of arrivals while ensuring essential services are maintained.
The increase in financial aid through the “Paisano Bienestar” card is a significant step towards alleviating immediate financial burdens for repatriated individuals, enabling them to better navigate their initial days upon returning to Mexico.
