CIUDAD JUÁREZ, Chih., August 20 (EL UNIVERSAL). – The Taiwanese company Pegatron Corporation has announced a significant expansion of its operations in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, with an investment of 330 million dollars. This strategic move involves the installation of a new specialized plant, slated for development between 2026 and 2029.
Governor Maru Campos Hails Investment, Job Creation
Governor Maru Campos celebrated the company’s growth, highlighting that the expansion will generate 1,000 new high-value jobs. She emphasized that this investment further strengthens Chihuahua’s position as a strategic hub for the semiconductor route, maintaining its national leadership in the production of electronic devices.
According to Governor Campos, Chihuahua currently accounts for nearly half of the circuits produced in Mexico. More than 185,000 Chihuahua residents are employed in this industry, and 21,000 young people are pursuing careers related to the sector. Governor Campos reiterated her government’s commitment to providing the necessary stability and support to attract new investments that foster prosperity for the state.
New Plant to Focus on Electromobility and Data Center Technology
During the project’s presentation, Ulises Fernández Gamboa, Secretary of Innovation and Economic Development, accompanied Kun Ling Yang, Executive Director of Pegatron Mexico. Fernández Gamboa explained that the new specialized plant in Ciudad Juarez will focus on the manufacturing of electronic components for electromobility and technology for data centers.
“Pegatron’s decision to continue growing in Ciudad Juarez demonstrates the confidence that exists in Chihuahua and in what we can build together. This investment means more productive capacity, high-value jobs, and a long-term commitment to our talent and to the industries that are transforming our economy,” affirmed Fernández Gamboa.
