Arrest of ‘El Chanfle’ Relatives: Nuevo Imperio Cartel, Mexico City
Mexico City, January 22, 2026 – The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) announced the arrest of two women allegedly connected to the Nuevo Imperio Cartel, a criminal organization described by authorities as a generator of violence operating in the Miguel Hidalgo and Azcapotzalco boroughs of Mexico City, as well as in various municipalities within the State of Mexico.
The operation, carried out on January 21st in the Miguel Hidalgo borough, resulted in the seizure of packages containing suspected drugs and a firearm. The arrested individuals were identified as Blanca N and Noemi N.
Investigation Triggered by Citizen Complaints
According to the official report, the investigation began after several citizen complaints were received, alerting authorities to the presence of a criminal group in the Cuauhtémoc Pensil neighborhood. Following information analysis and surveillance efforts, ministerial personnel identified a property allegedly used for the sale of illicit substances. Subsequently, a control judge granted a judicial order to intervene at the residence.
During the diligent investigation, the Attorney General’s Office established family ties between the detainees and the command structure of the aforementioned criminal organization. The report indicates that Blanca N stated she is the romantic partner of Emmanuel N, also known as ‘El Chanfle,’ who has been identified as a former leader and one of the founders of the Nuevo Imperio Cartel. ‘El Chanfle’ is currently incarcerated for drug-related offenses.
Furthermore, Noemi N declared that she is the romantic partner of the son of Emmanuel N and Blanca N.
Legal Proceedings Initiated
The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry agent, who is integrating the investigation file for the probable commission of crimes against health in the modality of street-level drug dealing. The agent will determine their legal status in due course.
