Authorities Close Seven Establishments in Ciudad Juárez for Violations

Ciudad Juárez, June 22 – Seven establishments in Ciudad Juárez were closed during inspections conducted between June 15 and 21, 2026, due to various irregularities, primarily concerning the sale and commercialization of alcoholic beverages. Salvador Caballero, head of the General Secretariat of Government in the North Zone, confirmed the closures and urged business owners to ensure their permits are up-to-date and that they comply with current regulations to avoid administrative sanctions or suspension of activities.

Operating Without Permits and Beyond Authorized Hours

Among the businesses affected, Quinta Alexa, Salón After de la República, and Modelorama 88 were cited for operating without the necessary permits. Salón After de la República and Modelorama 88 faced additional penalties for functioning outside their authorized operating hours. These findings highlight a persistent issue with compliance in the city’s nightlife and retail sectors.

Violation of Business Scope and Unrenewed Permits

Further inspections led to sanctions against Abarrotes Las Cabras de Praderas and Six Manielena for violating their business scope, meaning they were engaging in activities not covered by their existing permits. Additionally, the self-service store Extra Galeana was closed for failing to renew its 2026 permit, a fundamental requirement for legal operation.

The closures underscore the government’s commitment to enforcing regulations and maintaining order within the commercial landscape of Ciudad Juárez. Authorities have reiterated their call for all business owners to meticulously review and adhere to local and state laws governing their operations. Non-compliance can lead to significant financial penalties, temporary or permanent closure, and damage to business reputation.

These actions are part of ongoing efforts by the General Secretariat of Government to monitor and regulate businesses, ensuring fair competition and consumer safety. The inspections are expected to continue, serving as a reminder that vigilance and adherence to legal frameworks are paramount for all commercial establishments in Ciudad Juárez.
