Simultaneous Armed Attacks Leave Two Men Dead in Ciudad Juárez
Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, February 1, 2026 – Two men were killed in two simultaneous armed attacks that occurred in adjacent neighborhoods of Ciudad Juárez on the afternoon of Sunday, February 1. The incidents, which took place minutes apart, have prompted investigations by local authorities.
First Incident: Cerradas del Parque Neighborhood
The first attack was reported at the intersection of Pradera de Ciprés and Pradera de Caoba streets in the Cerradas del Parque neighborhood. A man was fatally shot by armed assailants who, according to witnesses, fled the scene in a white vehicle. Police forces from various agencies quickly arrived to secure the area.
Forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) commenced investigations at the site to gather evidence that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the perpetrators. No arrests have been announced yet in connection with this incident.
Second Incident: Villas de Alcalá Neighborhood
Almost simultaneously with the first event, and in an area adjacent to the same housing development, another man was executed in the Villas de Alcalá neighborhood. This second fatal attack occurred at the intersection of Villa Alta and Villas de Alcalá streets.
According to initial reports from authorities, the victim was attacked in front of his home. FGE personnel also responded to this scene to collect evidence. Subsequently, a unit from the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) transported the body to their facilities for a mandatory autopsy as part of the legal proceedings.
Ongoing Investigations and Public Safety Concerns
Both incidents underscore ongoing concerns regarding public safety and armed violence in Ciudad Juárez. Authorities have not yet released information linking the two attacks, but the simultaneous nature of the events suggests a coordinated effort or a heightened state of criminal activity in the area.
The State Attorney General’s Office continues its work to clarify the circumstances surrounding both homicides and to bring those responsible to justice. The community remains on alert as investigations proceed.
