Suspect Arrested in Ciudad Juárez Double Homicide After Extensive Surveillance
Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico – September 4, 2026 – Authorities in Ciudad Juárez have apprehended a man suspected of involvement in a double homicide that occurred recently in the Aztecas neighborhood. The arrest was made by elements of the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE) following an extensive surveillance and intelligence operation.
The incident, which led to the deaths of a man and a woman, took place inside a residence located at the intersection of Xochimilcas and Cholultecas streets. Both victims sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Following the attack, the perpetrators reportedly fled the scene in a maroon SUV, which was later abandoned in nearby streets and secured by municipal police.
Advanced Surveillance Aids Investigation
Specialists from the General Directorate of Specialized Investigation in Priority Crimes played a crucial role in the investigation. They meticulously analyzed surveillance camera footage to reconstruct the escape route of the suspects after they abandoned the initial vehicle. This intelligence analysis identified a second vehicle used for the getaway and a third car that was escorting it, enabling authorities to establish a targeted operational search perimeter in the area.
State agents successfully located one of the suspicious vehicles at the intersection of Arroyo del Mimbre and Flor del Loto, in the Felipe Ángeles neighborhood. Upon intercepting the driver, identified as Luis Raúl B. C., 24 years of age, he reportedly adopted an aggressive stance and physically assaulted the officers. He was subsequently subdued using proportional control techniques.
Charges and Ongoing Investigation
Luis Raúl B. C. has been placed at the disposal of the corresponding authority on charges of resisting arrest, while his responsibility in the double homicide is being determined. During the arrest, a 2015 Kia Forte vehicle, without license plates, was also secured.
This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of the SSPE and other law enforcement agencies in Ciudad Juárez to combat violent crime and bring those responsible to justice. The use of advanced technology, such as the Centinela Platform and extensive camera surveillance, proved instrumental in tracking down the alleged perpetrator.
The investigation into the double homicide is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather further evidence and determine if additional individuals were involved in the crime.
