This 2026, Tecnológico de Monterrey commemorates five decades of presence in Mexico City. The milestone will be celebrated with a comprehensive agenda of academic, cultural, and sports activities at its Santa Fe, State of Mexico, and Mexico City campuses.
Tec’s Enduring Presence and Impact in the Capital
Paulina Campos, Vice President of Tec’s campuses in Mexico City, emphasized the institution’s continuous presence in the capital, its strong ties with government, businesses, and society, and its significant academic, social, and cultural impact, extending from the capital to an international level.
Campos highlighted that this commemoration is not merely an exercise in historical memory but an opportunity to reinforce Tec’s role as an active participant in public discussions and in generating solutions for major urban challenges.
“Universities not only train talent; we also produce knowledge, generate evidence, and have an active responsibility in building better cities,” stated Campos.
A Comprehensive Agenda for Mexico City’s Future
The anniversary celebration is structured around two strategic pillars: the Center for the Future of Cities and Distrito Tlalpan. Both initiatives by Tec de Monterrey aim to connect the institution with society, government, and academia to foster development in the southern part of the capital, as well as in other cities across Mexico and Latin America.
“Celebrating this anniversary also means committing ourselves to what lies ahead: contributing to making Mexico City more livable, more just, and better prepared for the future,” added Paulina Campos.
