Ciudad Juárez, June 11 – The Ciudad Juárez Art Museum is set to host the inauguration of three new exhibitions this Friday, June 11th, at 7:00 PM. The exhibitions, featuring works by Carlos Vielma, Isabel Paredes, and Paco Servín, will remain open to the public until October. The announcement was made by Brenda Rodríguez, Undersecretary of Culture North Zone.
A Trio of Artistic Perspectives for the Community
The three distinct exhibitions aim to enrich the cultural landscape of Ciudad Juárez, offering diverse artistic expressions and interactive experiences for visitors. Entry to all exhibitions will be free of charge, reinforcing the cultural authorities’ commitment to making art accessible to everyone.
“The Postmodern Cult of Movements” by Carlos Vielma
Carlos Vielma’s exhibition, “The Postmodern Cult of Movements,” invites direct participation from visitors. Attendees are encouraged to leave messages that will subsequently be incorporated and intervened by the artist, creating a dynamic and evolving art piece. This interactive approach seeks to blur the lines between artist and audience, making the viewing experience more personal and engaging.
“Loving Machine, the Body at Play” by Isabel Paredes
Isabel Paredes presents “Loving Machine, the Body at Play,” an exhibition that delves into the intricate relationship between play, objects, and the human body. Beyond the visual display, Paredes will also lead workshops, providing an opportunity for the public to engage directly with her artistic concepts and techniques. This hands-on element offers a deeper understanding of the themes explored in her work.
“The Last Act” by Paco Servín
Paco Servín’s “The Last Act” is a poignant collection of 14 photographs documenting the final performance of the Atayde Circus with animals. Among these, three pieces are presented in a large format, emphasizing the scale and emotional impact of the circus’s farewell to its animal performers. This exhibition serves as a historical record and a reflection on a bygone era of entertainment.
Promoting Regional Artistic Talent
Cultural authorities emphasized that these exhibitions are part of a broader strategy to promote and create more exhibition spaces for plastic and visual artists from the region. By showcasing local and regional talent, the Ciudad Juárez Art Museum aims to foster artistic growth and provide a platform for artists to connect with the community.
The free admission is a key component of this initiative, ensuring that cultural enrichment is available to all residents of Ciudad Juárez and visitors to the city. The extended duration of the exhibitions, until October, allows ample time for the public to experience and appreciate the diverse artistic offerings.
This triple exhibition opening marks a significant cultural event for Ciudad Juárez, highlighting the city’s vibrant art scene and its commitment to public engagement with the arts.
