Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico – On Sunday, March 1, 2026, two homicides were reported in different sectors of Ciudad Juárez, marking the beginning of the month with violent incidents that mobilized security forces from all three levels of government.

First Incident: Infonavit Casas Grandes

The first case was reported in the Infonavit Casas Grandes neighborhood, where the lifeless body of a man was found. Preliminary information provided by authorities at the scene indicates that the victim sustained at least one gunshot wound. This discovery immediately activated corresponding investigation protocols.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Vías del Central and Novena streets. Authorities confirmed the death of the victim, whose identity has not yet been officially released. Neighbors in the sector alerted emergency services, leading to the swift arrival of municipal police and National Guard elements. These forces cordoned off the area to preserve the crime scene. Subsequently, ministerial agents and forensic experts from the prosecutor’s office began collecting evidence and conducting preliminary investigations to identify the victim and compile the case file.

Second Incident: “Los Kilómetros” Area

In a second violent incident recorded on the same day, an individual lost their life in the area known as “los kilómetros,” located in the southwest of the city. This event triggered another police mobilization.

Ongoing Investigations and Security Reinforcement

State and municipal authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify both homicides and apprehend those responsible. Concurrently, surveillance operations are being reinforced in the areas where these attacks occurred. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to combat crime and ensure public safety in Ciudad Juárez.

The events of March 1 underscore the ongoing security challenges faced by the city, prompting a continuous response from law enforcement agencies to maintain order and bring perpetrators to justice.
