Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua – Two minors died and another person was injured in a vehicle rollover accident that occurred yesterday afternoon, February 8, 2026, on Mauro Álvarez Campos street in the Granjas de Santa Elena neighborhood of Ciudad Juarez.

Vehicle Lost Control on Curve

According to preliminary reports from authorities, a white pickup truck was traveling from east to west on Mauro Álvarez Campos street. As the driver attempted to merge onto Eucalyptus Street, on a slight curve, they lost control of the vehicle. The truck reportedly rolled several times before coming to rest in a vacant lot.

Emergency services, including elements from various corporations, responded to the scene to secure the area. Inside the vehicle, authorities found two minors, aged 12 and 16, who had tragically lost their lives. Another person, whose age has not been disclosed, sustained injuries and was provided with medical attention.

Forensic Services and Ongoing Investigation

Personnel from the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) arrived at the site to conduct the recovery of the bodies. The victims were then transported to SEMEFO facilities for legal autopsy procedures.

As of now, official information regarding the identities of the deceased or the injured individual has not been released. Authorities anticipate providing further details once the investigation is complete.

Community Impact and Safety Concerns

This tragic incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety in Ciudad Juarez. The loss of two young lives in such circumstances is a somber reminder of the importance of cautious driving, especially when navigating curves and merging onto other roadways.

Local residents expressed sadness and concern following the accident. The Granjas de Santa Elena neighborhood, like many others in Ciudad Juarez, experiences regular traffic, and incidents of this nature can deeply affect the community.

Previous Incidents in Chihuahua

This accident follows other recent incidents in the state of Chihuahua. Just recently, an accident on the Cuauhtémoc-Chihuahua highway left two vehicles engulfed in flames. Additionally, a 16-year-old adolescent died in a rollover in Colinas del Sol, Chihuahua, and a police K9 unit named “Vico” passed away after a police intervention in El Fresno, Chihuahua.

The frequency of such incidents underscores the need for continued efforts to improve road safety and awareness among drivers in the region.

Authorities urge all drivers to exercise extreme caution, adhere to speed limits, and maintain full control of their vehicles, particularly on curves and intersections, to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

The investigation into the precise cause of this rollover accident is ongoing, and further information is expected to be released by the authorities in the coming days.
