CIUDAD JUAREZ, Chihuahua – On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) secured a 25-year prison sentence against Diana Laura G. O. and Ruby Elizabeth R. R., who were found criminally responsible for the homicide of Luis H. L. The victim’s body was discovered in a pickup truck in February 2025.

Court Delivers Verdict After Extensive Evidence Review

The judgment, issued by the Oral Court of the Bravos Judicial District, marks the conclusion of a judicial process that meticulously evaluated the evidence presented by the Public Ministry agent from the Life Crimes Unit of the Northern Zone District Attorney’s Office. In addition to the custodial sentence, the judge ordered the convicted women to pay for damages and funeral expenses incurred by the victim’s family.

The events leading to this conviction date back to February 8, 2025, when Luis H. L.’s lifeless body was found in a parked pickup truck in the Granjas Santa Elena neighborhood of Ciudad Juarez. Investigations conducted by the State Investigation Agency (AEI) subsequently identified the two women as the alleged perpetrators of the crime.

Arrest and Ongoing Legal Proceedings

Following the issuance of corresponding arrest warrants, AEI agents successfully apprehended both defendants on February 13, 2025, at the intersection of 16 de Septiembre Avenue and Oro Street in the Centro neighborhood of Ciudad Juarez. They have remained in preventive detention throughout the trial.

In an official statement, the State Attorney General’s Office emphasized its institutional commitment to the administration of justice and the clarification of crimes against human life. This conviction represents one of the most significant rulings in intentional homicide cases obtained by the Chihuahua prosecutor’s office in recent months.

The family of the victim will also receive economic compensation as ordered by the court. With this sentence, the two women will begin serving a penalty that will keep them in prison until mid-2050.
