CIUDAD JUÁREZ, CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO – The Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) marked the official start of its August-December 2026 semester yesterday, August 12, with a heartfelt welcome message from its Rector, Dr. Daniel Alberto Constandse Cortez. The message, addressed to students, faculty, researchers, and administrative staff, emphasized the university’s commitment to integral formation, knowledge generation, and societal development.

Rector Highlights University’s Core Mission

In his address, Dr. Constandse Cortez expressed enthusiasm for the new academic cycle, stating, “Each new academic cycle represents an opportunity to renew the commitment that unites us as a University: to train integral professionals, promote knowledge, generate innovation, and contribute to the development of our society.” He highlighted the return of thousands of students to campus to continue their life projects, alongside the integration of many new members to the UACJ community.

A Space for Growth and Community

The Rector underscored the university’s role as a vital space for growth and opportunity. “To all of you, we say: this is your University; a space where you will find knowledge, opportunities, and the necessary tools to transform your future. Here, every story, every talent, and every effort are important. Because being part of UACJ means sharing a purpose, building community, and being part of something bigger,” he affirmed.

Recognition for Faculty and Staff Contributions

Dr. Constandse Cortez also extended a warm welcome and recognition to the university’s professors, researchers, and administrative and support staff. He acknowledged their crucial role in the institution’s continued success, stating, “Their dedication makes it possible for UACJ to continue consolidating itself as an institution of excellence, committed to integral formation, research, culture, innovation, sports, and community engagement.”

A Call for Enthusiasm and Responsibility

The Rector concluded his message by encouraging the entire university community to approach the new semester with enthusiasm and responsibility. “Let us begin this semester with enthusiasm, responsibility, and the conviction that every effort adds up to build a stronger, more humane university, closer to its community. I wish you a semester full of learning and achievements. Welcome everyone. Be part of something bigger. UACJ Inspires the future,” he concluded.

The university’s focus on fostering a supportive and enriching environment for all its members remains a cornerstone of its mission as it embarks on another academic period.
