Water Cuts Affect Several Mexico City Boroughs on July 15 Due to Maintenance
Mexico City, July 15 – Numerous families and businesses across Mexico City experienced low water pressure or complete suspension of their water supply on Wednesday, July 15. The Secretariat of Integral Water Management (SEGIAGUA) confirmed that these interruptions were due to scheduled maintenance and repairs in several boroughs.
Cuajimalpa: Valve Replacement at El Yaqui Tank
In the borough of Cuajimalpa, SEGIAGUA announced that technical personnel were conducting maintenance and replacing a 12-inch diameter valve at the El Yaqui tank. The water cut-off commenced at 12:00 PM on July 15 and was expected to conclude by 6:00 PM on the same day.

- Ahuatenco
- San José de los Cedros 1st and 2nd Section
- Rosa Torres
- Tepetongo
- El Ébano
- Granjas Navidad
Xochimilco: Prolonged Interruption Due to Pumping Equipment Failure
Residents in Xochimilco faced a more prolonged water cut, which began on Sunday, July 12, at 9:00 AM. SEGIAGUA reported that this extended interruption was due to a mechanical failure in the pumping equipment at the Reclusorio Sur 2 well. The scheduled cut, lasting over 100 hours, was anticipated to end on Thursday, July 16, around 5:00 PM.

Iztapalapa: Pipeline Diversion in Ejército de Oriente
The borough of Iztapalapa also saw water supply interruptions on July 15. SEGIAGUA personnel were working on diverting a 12-inch pipeline on Lanceros de Oaxaca street, in the Ejército de Oriente neighborhood. These efforts led to a temporary suspension of water service in the Ejército de Oriente neighborhood.
The agency informed residents that service was expected to be restored by approximately 3:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15.
