Mexico City, April 26 – Yael “N” has been arrested in Mexico City for his alleged participation in a child pornography network. The arrest, which took place in the Azcapotzalco borough, followed an international alert issued by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States.
Details of the Case Emerge
According to the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX), Yael “N” is accused of storing and sharing material containing child sexual abuse content via his email between March 29 and March 30, 2025. The case is being investigated as human trafficking in the modality of child pornography.
The operation was a collaborative effort between the Investigative Police (PDI) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC). After receiving the international report, the Public Ministry analyzed the information and gathered evidence to request an arrest warrant from a control judge.
The investigation was initiated based on information provided by the NCMEC, a US organization dedicated to detecting and combating child sexual exploitation.
The international alert prompted the intervention of Mexican authorities, who coordinated the search and location of Yael “N” in the Industrial Vallejo neighborhood. Agents from the PDI and SSPC executed the judicial order on April 14, 2026, although the information was not released until Saturday, April 25.
The FGJCDMX stated that this case is part of coordinated actions to identify and punish crimes related to the sexual exploitation of minors, in conjunction with national and international bodies.
Yael “N” Linked to Process and Held in Custody
Yael “N” is currently being held at the Reclusorio Preventivo Varonil Oriente. During the initial hearing, the judicial authority determined to link Yael “N” to the process and imposed the precautionary measure of justified pre-trial detention.
The judge set a period of three months for the closing of the complementary investigation, during which time the parties may submit new elements to the file.
Recent Cases Highlight Ongoing Efforts
This arrest comes amidst a series of similar cases reported by authorities in Mexico City and other states in recent months. These include the capture of an English teacher in Puerto Vallarta accused of producing child pornography and the case of a female teacher detained in Tláhuac for storing material of her daughters.
Another significant case occurred in January 2026, when authorities in Puerto Morelos arrested Tomás “N” for his alleged involvement in human trafficking and child pornography. That case originated from a complaint filed with the Public Prosecutor’s Office of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
These ongoing efforts underscore the commitment of Mexican authorities, in collaboration with international partners, to combat child sexual exploitation and bring perpetrators to justice.
