The alert was in effect from 4:50 PM to 9:00 PM, during which time rainfall accumulations of between 15 and 29 millimeters were anticipated.
Seven Boroughs Under Yellow Alert
The Yellow Alert was issued for the following seven boroughs:
- Álvaro Obregón
- Benito Juárez
- Coyoacán
- Cuauhtémoc
- Cuajimalpa
- Magdalena Contreras
- Tlalpan
The map distributed by Civil Protection indicated that the alert primarily covered the western, central, and southern areas of the capital.

The SGIRPC specified the risk period from 4:50 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, warning of intensifying precipitation and the possibility of accompanying hail. Authorities cautioned that the rains could lead to waterlogging and strong currents on streets and avenues, as well as the falling of branches, trees, and awnings.
Recommendations for the Public
In response to the alert, the agency issued several recommendations for residents:
- Remove trash from storm drains, both inside and outside homes.
- Keep doors and windows closed.
- Avoid crossing streets or avenues with strong water currents.
- Use an umbrella or raincoat if venturing out during the rain.
