Ciudad Juárez, April 20 – Authorities successfully rescued 15 people and apprehended five individuals during a raid on a house in the Chihuahua neighborhood of Ciudad Juárez. The operation, which took place at the intersection of Rubén Posada Pompa and Guillermina Diéguez, also led to the seizure of various weapons and ammunition.

Emergency Call Leads to Swift Action

The raid was initiated following a report from a neighbor to the 911 emergency number, alerting authorities to a concerning situation at the residence. Specialized units, including elements from the Special Detective Group and the SWAT Special Force, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Their swift intervention allowed them to enter and secure the property.

Detainees and Seized Arsenal

The five individuals taken into custody have been identified as:

  • Miguel Ángel “N”
  • Adrián Alejandro “N”
  • José Luis “N”
  • José Ángel “N”
  • María Cristina “N”

During the search of the premises, authorities discovered and seized a rifle, a shotgun, 10 magazines, and over 290 live cartridges. Both the detained individuals and the confiscated weaponry have been handed over to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) for further investigation.

Ongoing Investigation by the FGR

The Attorney General’s Office will now proceed with the corresponding investigations into the incident. As of now, no additional details have been released regarding the conditions in which the rescued individuals were found or their legal status. The FGR is expected to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.

Context of Insecurity in Chihuahua

This operation comes amidst ongoing concerns about insecurity in the state of Chihuahua. Recent news has highlighted various incidents, including the linking of eight individuals to aggravated kidnapping in Ciudad Juárez, one of whom is a minor. Other reports have included incidents of police officers being found injured after being held against their will, and reports of alleged explosives at Cereso Number 3 in Ciudad Juárez.

The successful rescue and arrests in this latest operation underscore the efforts of local authorities to address criminal activity and ensure public safety in the region. The collaboration between different security forces, as demonstrated by the involvement of the Special Detective Group and SWAT, proved crucial in the effective execution of the raid.

Authorities continue to urge residents to report any suspicious activities to emergency services, as community vigilance plays a vital role in supporting law enforcement efforts. The impact of such operations on the overall security landscape of Ciudad Juárez remains a key focus for both local and federal agencies.
