Ganem Mexico and Comex PPG Transform Mexico City Sky into a Live Color Experience

Mexico City, April 23, 2026 – In a groundbreaking collaboration, Ganem Mexico and Comex PPG have unveiled an innovative campaign that transforms the Mexico City sky into a dynamic and living canvas of color. This initiative moves beyond traditional color announcements, instead opting to display the ‘color of the year’ in real-time, leveraging the ever-changing hues of the city’s sky.

The project, inspired by ‘Cielito Lindo,’ one of Comex’s two colors of the year, operates on the premise that the Mexico City sky is never static. It constantly shifts, revealing a myriad of blues, shades, and combinations that often go unnoticed in daily routines. Ganem Mexico’s ‘Cultural First’ methodology, which emphasizes cultural observation to build relevance, guided the development of this concept, turning a simple truth into an expansive, inspiring idea.

Real-Time Sky Projection on a Digital Billboard

To bring this vision to life, the companies have installed a digital billboard that literally ‘looks at the sky.’ Equipped with an integrated camera, the billboard captures the exact color of the sky in real-time and projects it onto a screen. This creates a dynamic composition that evolves throughout the day, powered by Comex’s Combina 3C system algorithm and data. “Here, the inspiration is written in the sky,” stated Jorge Méndez, CEO & CCO, Ganem Mexico.

Octavio Navarro, Head of Digital at Ganem Mexico, elaborated on the technical aspects: “Through an integrated camera, the piece captures the exact color of the sky in real-time and projects it onto a screen, transforming it into a dynamic composition that evolves throughout the day, fed by the algorithm and data from Comex’s Combina 3C system. Thus, data is elevated to the sky and becomes art, allowing color to be born in the moment and become color that lives in real-time.”

Connecting Environment with Medium

The result is more than just an outdoor advertisement; it’s an immersive experience that seamlessly connects the environment with the medium. Nallely Recinas, General Director of Client Service at Ganem Mexico, emphasized this connection: “The sky becomes a living canvas, where nature becomes the medium, and technology allows the sky to speak, making every atmospheric change part of the piece. In this process, data is changing the way we see the sky.”

Guadalupe Fernández, CEO of Ganem Media, added, “The screen ceases to be an advertisement to become something alive, constantly changing, reflecting what is happening right above us. The sky becomes part of the story, and ideas cease to be static to move at the rhythm of the environment, yes, at the speed of the sky.”

A New Perspective on Color and Innovation

Beyond the technological marvel, the project introduces a novel approach to presenting color. Instead of a fixed trend, color is portrayed as something that breathes, transforms, and exists within our surroundings, effectively turning nature into innovation. Arturo Castilla, Creative General Director at Ganem Mexico, highlighted this shift: “‘Cielito Lindo’ ceases to be just a name or a tone or even a song, to become an invitation to look differently.”

This collaboration between Ganem Mexico and Comex PPG underscores the idea that the best concepts are often discovered rather than invented. By simply encouraging people to look up, the sky reveals itself as the grandest color palette available, ushering in a new era for Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising.
