Authorities have detained two individuals in connection with the incident, one of whom is a woman suspected of concealing the firearm.
Deadly Confrontation Disrupts Evening in San Bartolo Ameyalco
The tragic events unfolded at a bar located on Miguel Hidalgo Street, in the San Bartolo Ameyalco neighborhood. According to initial reports, the festive atmosphere within the establishment was shattered when a discussion among several young patrons escalated into a violent confrontation.
Workers at the bar recounted that the argument quickly intensified, leading one of the individuals involved to produce a firearm and open fire on others. Police from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunshots inside the venue.
Police Response and Arrests Made
Upon arrival, SSC officers found four men with gunshot wounds, who were subsequently confirmed deceased. Two probable suspects were apprehended at the scene. One individual was taken into custody immediately, while another, also identified as a probable shooter, was transported to a hospital for treatment of a leg injury under police guard.
The SSC confirmed the arrests, stating, “Police from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City responded to a bar located on Miguel Hidalgo Street, in the San Bartolo Ameyalco neighborhood, in the Álvaro Obregón borough, due to a report of shots fired inside an establishment where two probable suspects were detained.”
Further investigation, including a review of closed-circuit television footage from outside the bar, led to the detention of a 22-year-old woman. She is suspected of having hidden the firearm used in the attack. The woman, along with a short-barreled weapon loaded with five live cartridges and a seized cell phone, has been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, who will determine her legal situation.
