Ciudad Juárez Customs Revenue Soars by 25% in July, Reaching Over 5 Billion Pesos

Ciudad Juárez, August 25, 2026 – The Ciudad Juárez customs office experienced a significant 25 percent increase in revenue in July compared to the previous month, according to a report from the National Agency of Customs of Mexico (ANAM). The revenue for July totaled 5.387 billion pesos (mdp), a substantial rise from the 4.3 billion pesos reported in June.

This marks the second consecutive month of growth for the local customs office, solidifying Ciudad Juárez’s position as the second most productive customs office in the country. It trails only Laredo, which recorded 18.374 billion pesos in revenue during the same period. Matamoros ranked third, with 4.056 billion pesos.

Juárez’s Strategic Role in Trade and Economy

Marcelo Vázquez Tovar, the state delegate for the Association of Importers and Exporters of the Mexican Republic (Anierm), highlighted the positive implications of this growth. “This indicates that companies continue to move goods, either for local sale and distribution or for production, which is a good sign for the economy,” Vázquez Tovar stated.

He emphasized that the revenue generated by customs offices plays a crucial role in meeting the country’s fiscal needs and underscores the region’s strategic importance in foreign trade. Vázquez Tovar also noted that Ciudad Juárez’s maquiladora production makes it the leading city for exports, which is reflected in the necessary import of inputs for manufacturing.

Future Investments in Customs Infrastructure

The increased fiscal collection could pave the way for future investments in customs infrastructure, aimed at streamlining the flow of goods. Anierm, according to Vázquez Tovar, will continue to advocate for priority improvements, including the remodeling of the Jerónimo-Santa Teresa international crossing and the planning of new infrastructure around the Zaragoza-Ysleta crossing.

The significant revenue growth in Ciudad Juárez’s customs office reflects the dynamic economic activity in the region and its vital contribution to both national and international trade. The sustained increase in customs income suggests a robust and active trade environment, with potential for further development and infrastructure enhancements to support this crucial economic engine.
