Mexico City, June 29 – An explosion caused by gas accumulation in a home in the La Cañada neighborhood of Xochimilco, Mexico City, resulted in six injuries yesterday morning, Sunday, June 28. The Mexico City Fire Department responded to the emergency, and the injured individuals were immediately transferred to a local hospital for medical attention.
Six Injured, No Structural Damage Reported
Juan Manuel Pérez Cova, known as Jefe Vulcano, head of the Fire Department, confirmed via social media that all six injured persons were transported to a nearby hospital. He also specified that despite the intensity of the explosion, no structural damage was reported in the affected residence.
The incident occurred in a house located at the corner of Camino Real and Emiliano Zapata. Local residents reported that the explosion caused windows to shatter and doors and frames to detach from the property. The area was cordoned off by authorities while the exact causes of the explosion are being investigated.
Victims May Have Suffered Burns
While the severity of the injuries has not been officially released, neighbors informed Azteca Noticias journalist Saúl Díaz that the residents of the property might have sustained burns, although the degree of these burns was not specified.
