Man Charged in Ciudad Juárez for Arson of Five Vehicles at Car Dealership

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, August 24 – The Chihuahua State Attorney General’s Office for the Northern Zone District has formally charged Noha Alexandre S. O., also identified as Noha Alexander S. O., with aggravated damages. The charges stem from an incident where five vehicles were set ablaze at an MG car dealership located on Ejército Nacional Avenue in Ciudad Juárez.

Details of the Incident and Arrest

According to ministerial investigations, in the early hours of August 20, the suspect allegedly sprayed an accelerant chemical on one of the vehicles displayed outside the dealership, at the intersection of Ejército Nacional Avenue and Del Heno Street in the El Marquis neighborhood. The fire then spread, damaging four additional vehicles, all of which were 2026 models.

Noha Alexandre S. O., 23, was arrested on the night of Saturday, August 22, by agents of the State Investigation Agency. He was apprehended under an arrest warrant issued for the aforementioned crime.

Court Proceedings and Next Steps

During the initial hearing, prosecutors presented evidence and legal arguments linking the accused to the time and place of the incident. The Control Judge presiding over the criminal case ordered justified pre-trial detention for Noha Alexandre S. O. A hearing for formal indictment and process linkage has been scheduled for August 28.

The incident caused significant damage to the dealership, with five brand-new vehicles being completely destroyed. The motivation behind the alleged arson has not yet been publicly disclosed by authorities.

This event highlights concerns regarding property crime in Ciudad Juárez and the swift response by law enforcement to address such incidents. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details surrounding the case.
