Pegatron to Invest $330 Million in New Ciudad Juarez Plant, Creating 1,000 Jobs
Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, August 24, 2026 – Taiwanese technology firm Pegatron is set to significantly expand its footprint in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, with a substantial investment of 330 million dollars. This capital injection will facilitate the establishment of a new state-of-the-art plant dedicated to the manufacturing of electronic components.
The ambitious project, slated for development between 2026 and 2029, is expected to generate 1,000 high-value employment opportunities, according to information released by the Government of Chihuahua. The new facility will focus on producing components for electric vehicles and advanced technologies integral to data centers, addressing the escalating demand in these critical segments of global manufacturing supply chains.
Chihuahua Fortifies its Electronic Industry Leadership
During the project’s unveiling, Chihuahua Governor Maru Campos highlighted the state’s pivotal role in Mexico’s electronics sector, noting that Chihuahua currently accounts for nearly half of all circuits produced nationwide. The region’s robust electronics industry currently employs approximately 185,000 individuals, with an additional 21,000 young people pursuing careers in related fields, as per state government data.
